  • Minnesota River Trail

Informal, braided trail network in the Minnesota River floodplain within Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, maintained by MORC volunteers in cooperation with refuge land managers -- not a purpose-built singletrack system like most other Twin Cities destinations. NO single official total-mileage figure exists: sources describe different, non-equivalent scopes -- a specific named segment ("Lyndale Ave to Bloomington Ferry Rd") at 7.1mi, a different "longest trail in the network" at 6.9mi, and the refuge's own figure of 45+ miles of ALL trail types (paved, hiking, biking) across the entire 14,000-acre refuge, not MTB-singletrack-specific. total_miles intentionally left null rather than picking one of these.
